We Said We'd Do it in June...

Hello "VCFMW fan"!  Over the next day or two, a few of us, your humble correspondant included, will be making the trip down to Dallas, Texas to witness the third incarnation of VCF Southwest, which some say takes a cue or two from our little thing we do up here in Chicago.  Who's to say?  All we know is they have an excellent crew running things down there, a really nice venue and are far enough away that we see plenty of exhibits that we don't see at our own show.  And they get bigger every year!

So before we catch our rides to the airport, we wanted to bring you the promised Pre-Tabling Announcement!  This is not the opening of tabling for VCF Midwest, but the thing before that, the countdown before the horses leave the gate.

And that gate will operate a little differently this year: instead of opening the tabling form and snapping it shut when we think we're full (and opening it again for a few minutes later on), the form will be open from:

Friday, June 27th, 19:00 CDT to Friday, July 11th, 19:00 CDT

On Friday afternoon, a link to the table request form will be posted to our website and the form will be opened at 19:00 CDT.

So by all means, do set your Palm Pilots, StarTACs, Sharp Zauruses (from the DAK catalog), Wheelock alarms, AI assistants and Newtons to remind you next Friday afternoon.  But there is no need to be the first to fill out the form this time.  We will collect table requests for two weeks, close the form and figure out how many of you we can fit in.  If you receive an invoice for your table(s) (and pay it), you're all set.  Or you may hear from us about modifying your request to help us better accomodate as great a diversity of exhibits as possible.  That part hasn't changed.

In the unlikely event that we receive too few requests by 19:00 on July 11th, we'll re-open the form.

So that's the news - more waiting (sorry).  Now if you will excuse me, I have some packing to do.  I'm going to leave a lot of free space for the manuals, modems and more that I always end up bringing home.

Oh, they do an auction down there, too.  See you there?
